Updated.

Things have been slightly crazy lately.

I haven't up-dated this ole' blog in far too long.  So much has happened here at the Wright household!

Brooklyn is doing well in school, and he is learning how to read, and LOVING it!  He tries to spell and read every word he can.  He is loving school, and he is finally getting used to the full-day kindergarten thing.  It was rough there for a while, he was so exhausted after school, but he is doing better.

The semester is over for me on Wednesday.  I don't know what I am going to do with myself over the break! I had such a great fall at school! Maybe I can catch up with this blog...we'll see.

I will leave you with this pic.  Sunday was really the first big-time snow for us, and Brooklyn chose that he wanted to blow bubbles???? Such a weirdo.  But we love him, weirdness and all...

Kindergarten?!?!?! Already?!

Holy-Crap.  Our kid is IN KINDERGARTEN!!!!!! Where has the time gone?  I can't believe that it has gone by so fast.  But he is excited and he loves his new school.  Me on the other hand? It has made me feel...

old.  I can't believe it.  I can't believe he will be six in...

about two short months.  (Insert sad face here.) He just doesn't seem old enough to be so big, and smart.
So ya, he was pretty excited to go, He went in right along with the other kids, just an annoyed look (see below) at me for taking too many pictures, and a simple "bye mom!" as he walked in the door with his new classmates.

The Horse parade...WAY back in July

This past July, We decided to go to the horse parade.  We have never been before but Brooklyn's cousin was going to be IN the parade, so we went.  AND, it was the rainiest day that there ever was in Utah.  But it was so fun!! Brooklyn loved it and so did I.  I am still a horse-lovin' little girl inside.
It was a warm summer rain.  We, and everyone around us were enjoying the sound and the smell.

 The horses didn't mind...

The sun finally showed its face at the very end.  Brooklyn and I were SOAKED.  But it was well worth it. This is such a great Ogden tradition!!

Class Butterflies

Today, in my mom's fifth-grade class, they let their butterflies go. They had been taking care of them since they were caterpillars.  It was a great experience, and all the kids had a wonderful time.  Brooklyn LOVED it...

at the farm..

My good friend Carrie invited us up to see her parents farm on Saturday.  It was so lovely there!

They have a pond with ducks that stay there all year, and there were little ducklings waddling around.

It was such a beautiful place!  One that I would love to go back to!  Her parents are so lucky to have such a n adorable little farm.

It has been mentioned to me TWICE this week from two different people that I need to update the ole' blog. Thank you Katie, and Audrey... I am a terrible blogger...haha!

Lately things have been insane around here. It seems like most of my evenings go by so fast, and then once Brooklyn is in bed, it is homework time (which ususally turns into fall-asleep in a puddle of my own drool time).

Anywho...

It was preschool parent's day this past week! I got to go to Brooklyn's class with him and make an art project, and see everything that he has been learning! I LOVE Brooklyn's preschool. He has learned so much this year, and I can't believe that he will be starting kindergarten in the fall!!
This in our art project.

Brooklyn learned two songs and all the sign language that went with them! I was so impressed! He is learning so much, so fast!

I am so happy to have him. He couldn't be sweeter. Or cuter...

MY 5-YEAR OLD!

OUR SON IS F-I-V-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh. I am the luckiest mom on the planet. As I am typing this, he is upstairs in his room...four...for the very last night. (tears are flowing everywhere.) I keep sneaking a peek through the crack in the door, as if I am going to miss something. And, I am going to miss something. I already miss four. This has been a great year, full of fun, and happiness in our family, because of our little four year old. He is growing up so fast, and I know it is cliche to say this when it comes to your child growing up, but THEY GROW UP WAY TOO FAST!

At five, Brooklyn's
Favorite food is: Spaghetti with meatballs
Favorite cereal is: "Mommy's cereal" as he calls is. (Quaker Oatmeal Squares)
Favorite movie is: Anything super hero-ish
Favorite snack is: strawberries
Favorite toy is: His action figures
Favorite song is: at the moment, BINGO
Favorite game is : Candy Land

At five, Brooklyn:
is Sweet,
loves music,
is Loving,
is Gentle, and a little shy,
is Wild,
is a good listener,
is Happy,
is already hilarious,
is (uh-oh) a flirt,

And Nathan and I are so grateful EVERY DAY that we have him! Happy birthday, to my sweet little 5-year old!
